Characteristics of Aramid Fabrics

Aramid fabric is a high-performance high-tech textile with thin texture, soft hand feel, good air permeability and proper elasticity. It exhibits superior comprehensive properties such as ultra-high strength, excellent high temperature resistance, humidity resistance and chemical corrosion resistance. Owing to these advantages, it is widely used in functional clothing, sportswear, outdoor equipment, automotive interiors and industrial supplies. The whole production procedure of aramid fabrics is strict and complicated, and high-quality finished products rely on standardized multi-step processing.

Spinning Process

Spinning is the primary procedure of aramid fabric production. The raw material selection, technological design and production equipment directly determine the fabric's cost, quality, functionality and appearance. At present, there are three common spinning techniques: conventional spinning, rotary drafting and melt-blown drafting. Conventional spinning is still the most mainstream and mature process in industrial mass production.

Weaving Process

Weaving serves as one of the most critical steps. Aramid fabrics are mostly woven with blended materials. In the weaving stage, technical parameters including warp, weft and fabric density need precise regulation. Different weaving methods greatly change the structural features, which further affect the fabric's softness, air permeability, surface gloss and overall comfort.
