What's the difference between aramid and kevlar?
Kevlar is the famous Para-Aramid fiber in the world, it is a commercial brand owned by its manufacturer, the DuPont. The concept is just like JEEP vs SUV.
When the sellers tell the products is made of "ARAMID", that means it is alike Kevlar, with a litter performance margin. However, some seller may use non-Kevlar named his products as Kevlar, that will make more convincing for sale. In the opinion as a Manufacturer which indeed dealed with normal aramid fiber and real Kevlar fiber, the major performance loss of the products happened in the producing proscess, and in that way the differences between aramid and Kevlar is truely not a big deal, especially when the products are thin string, or rope. I exported tons of them to NA or EU annually, don't doubt of me for how I know all that mess.
Tips for buyer, the big differences between Kevlar and normal aramid is the color - bright yellow is better than dark yellow, and the dark one means the products had already been exposed in UV or sun light, which is the only enemy of Kevlar.
Forget about Kevlar and aramid, choose the better-look-pure-yellow and the cheapest one is all you need to know. I mean real goods in your hands, not just picture.
